INNOVATIVE.
SAFE.
FUN.
Safety is our number one priority at Funtopia. We take pride in using some of the most innovative and safest climbing equipment in the world.
From our advanced belay system for climbing walls to the industry-leading floors, everything we use is designed with one goal in mind – ensuring the safety of all our visitors while providing an unforgettable experience.
Here’s what sets us apart:
Safety Video.Trained Facilitators.
Every visit to Funtopia starts with a safety video that shows how to properly use the attractions. These videos help our visitors understand how to use the safety equipment and cover the most important rules and recommendations at Funtopia.
Our trained facilitators are always on hand to answer any questions and ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience at Funtopia.
Innovative Safety System.
The safety system used during climbing at Funtopia functions like a safety lock, increasing the climber’s security by ensuring they can only climb when properly attached to the device.
Our walls are equipped with an auto-belay system that provides a smooth descent to the ground, eliminating the need for a belay partner.
Flooring System"One More Life"
Funtopia Sofia is the only entertainment center in Bulgaria that uses the “One More Life” flooring system, which covers the entire climbing area.
This flooring system is specially designed for climbing walls and is used in both professional and recreational sports facilities around the world.
Safety Rules
Safety Rules and Equipment Use at Funtopia Kids and Funtopia Ninja
Before using the equipment at Funtopia Kids and Funtopia Ninja ("Funtopia"), you must carefully review the rules that you must follow to ensure your safety:
I. General Safety Rules
Before entering the Funtopia Kids and Funtopia Ninja zones, you must register. Registration can be completed either through the website sofia.funtopiaworld.com or at the Funtopia reception desk.
Before using the attractions, all visitors must complete a 10-minute safety briefing, which includes watching an instructional video on the safe use of the attractions and signing an informed consent form confirming that they understand and agree to follow these rules. The safety rules are also available on the Funtopia website and on the information signs throughout the center. For visitors under the age of 16, the informed consent form must be signed by a parent, legal guardian, or another person authorized by the parent or legal guardian. This person must ensure that the visitor under the age of 16 is familiar with Funtopia’s rules.
Compliance with the center’s safety rules and the instructions provided by Funtopia staff is mandatory at all times while you are on the premises. The use of the attractions involves certain risks, including the risk of serious injury—such as broken limbs, bruises, abrasions, and other injuries—or fatal consequences resulting from slipping, tripping, falling from a height, contact with the attractions or safety equipment, or collision with a bystander or another visitor. Failure to comply with the safety rules may significantly increase these risks.
Parents and accompanying adults must explain the safety rules to the children in their care in an appropriate and understandable manner and ensure that the rules are followed. Parents must directly supervise their children, even though our facilitators monitor compliance with the center’s rules during each visit.
Use of the zones is voluntary and at the visitor’s own risk. Following the safety briefing and familiarization with these rules, each visitor may use the attractions independently. The center’s staff monitor compliance with the safety rules but do not provide individual supervision to every visitor.
Where safety equipment is required, the attraction may only be used after a trained Funtopia facilitator has checked that the equipment is fitted correctly.
The maximum permitted weight for visitors using the Freestyle Zone, Dodgeball Zone, Foam Zone, and Valo Jump Zone is 135 kg. The maximum permitted weight for the Ninja Course is 120 kg, and the minimum height requirement is 120 cm. For the Funtopia Kids climbing zones, the maximum permitted weight is 140 kg and the minimum permitted weight is 10 kg.
The minimum age for using Funtopia’s zones is 3 years. Children aged between 3 and 7 must be accompanied in the play zones by an adult. The center reserves the right not to admit children under the age of 7 to activities during which their safety may be at risk. The center’s staff monitor minors’ compliance with the safety rules but do not provide individual supervision to every visitor.
To use the Funtopia Ninja and Soft Play zones, visitors must wear appropriate sports clothing and special grip socks. These socks may be purchased at the reception desk and are reusable. All jewelry, watches, and other loose items must be removed. Please check and empty your pockets.
Running and other sudden or reckless actions that may endanger your own safety or the safety of other visitors are prohibited throughout Funtopia.
Please be considerate of other Funtopia visitors. If you notice behavior that may endanger you or others, notify a member of staff immediately.
Chewing gum, food, and drinks are not permitted inside Funtopia’s activity zones. Visitors who are intoxicated, emotionally unstable, or under the influence of narcotic or intoxicating substances are not permitted to enter the zones.
Do not sit or lie down inside the activity areas. If you need to rest, leave the zone and use one of the designated seating or rest areas.
We do not recommend using Funtopia’s attractions if you are pregnant, have any medical contraindications, or suffer from an acute or chronic condition that may cause or increase the risk of injury.
Please take care of your personal belongings. The center is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Visitors who fail to follow the safety instructions, behave aggressively or inappropriately, or wear unsuitable clothing will be asked to leave the relevant zone. The decision of the center’s staff is final.
If you are removed from a zone or decide to end your visit early, admission fees will not be refunded, and the center is not required to provide compensation for any paid but unused time.
Due to the specific characteristics of the different attractions and activities available at Funtopia, each attraction has its own additional safety rules, displayed in the relevant zone. These rules apply in addition to the general safety rules listed above.
